Domaine de la Romanée-Conti (DRC), located in Vosne-Romanée, traces its origins to the 13th century when the Abbey of Saint Vivant cultivated vineyards in the area. The estate gained prominence in 1760 when it was acquired by Louis François, Prince of Conti, who appended his name to the renowned Romanée vineyard. Since 1869, the domaine has been co-owned by the de Villaine and Leroy families, who have upheld its legacy of producing some of the world's most esteemed wines.
DRC's holdings encompass 25.53 hectares across several Grand Cru vineyards, including Romanée-Conti, La Tâche, Richebourg, and Montrachet. Each vineyard is managed with meticulous care, adhering to biodynamic principles to ensure the health of the vines and the expression of terroir.
Corton is DRC’s only red Grand Cru outside Vosne-Romanée, with just over 2 hectares spread across the lieux-dits Clos du Roi, Bressandes, and Renardes. Perched on the limestone slopes of the Hill of Corton, this wine combines the firm structure typical of the appellation with the domaine’s signature finesse. It is the most approachable of the reds in youth, yet still capable of aging gracefully.
