Champagne Pascal Agrapart, established in 1894, remains a family-owned grower-producer dedicated to crafting artisanal Champagne. Based in the village of Avize, the estate is currently managed by Pascal Agrapart, who is celebrated for his hands-on approach and commitment to expressing terroir. Known for producing low-yield, single-vineyard Champagnes, the house has gained a cult following among enthusiasts of grower Champagne.
The Champagne region, located in northern France, is defined by its cool climate and chalk-rich soils, which are essential for producing sparkling wines of precision and finesse. The estate is situated in the Côte des Blancs, renowned for its Grand Cru vineyards specializing in Chardonnay. The proximity to the Marne Valley and its gentle slopes enhances the distinct character of the wines.
Pascal Agrapart’s vineyards are predominantly planted on chalky soils in Grand Cru villages like Avize, Cramant, and Oger. The chalk subsoil provides excellent drainage and reflects sunlight, aiding ripening while preserving acidity. Agrapart’s biodynamic practices and focus on natural winemaking emphasize the purity and minerality of the terroir, resulting in complex, vibrant Champagnes with exceptional texture and depth.
