Domaine Sylvain Pataille is a leading voice in organic and biodynamic viticulture in Burgundy’s Marsannay appellation. With a background in oenology and viticultural consulting, Sylvain Pataille established his domaine in 1999 and has since become known for expressive, low-intervention wines that highlight the purity of Pinot Noir and Aligoté.
Located at the northern gateway to the Côte de Nuits, Marsannay is one of Burgundy’s most dynamic appellations. Long undervalued, the area has gained recognition for its varied soil types and potential for both red and white wines, with Pataille playing a central role in elevating its status.
Domaine Sylvain Pataille works across over 15 hectares of limestone-rich parcels, including lieux-dits such as Clos du Roy and Champs Perdrix. The wines are vinified with native yeasts, minimal sulfur, and long élevage to preserve site expression and reveal the nuanced structure and energy of each vineyard.
