Domaine Mongeard-Mugneret, based in Vosne-Romanée, traces its roots back to 1620, making it one of the oldest family-run estates in Burgundy. Currently managed by Vincent Mongeard, the domaine spans approximately 30 hectares across 35 appellations, producing a range of wines that reflect the diversity of the Côte de Nuits.
The estate's vineyards are located in some of Burgundy's most esteemed villages, including Vosne-Romanée, Nuits-Saint-Georges, and Chambolle-Musigny. These areas are renowned for their Pinot Noir wines, which are celebrated for their elegance, complexity, and aging potential. The region's varied topography and climate contribute to the distinctive characteristics of each wine.
The soils across Mongeard-Mugneret's vineyards are predominantly composed of limestone and clay, providing excellent drainage and contributing to the wines' finesse and structure. In particular, the Grands-Echézeaux Grand Cru vineyard features rich clay over Bajocian limestone, resulting in wines with depth, complexity, and a harmonious balance. The combination of soil composition, vine age, and meticulous vineyard management ensures that each wine authentically expresses its terroir.
