Established in the early 1980s by Alain Gallety and his father, Domaine Gallety is located in the Côtes du Vivarais appellation, straddling the northern and southern Rhône. The estate has been practicing organic farming since its inception, emphasizing minimal intervention and traditional techniques. Alain's dedication to quality and innovation has positioned the domaine as a rising star in the region.
The Côtes du Vivarais, situated in the Ardèche department, features a diverse terroir with clay-limestone soils and a Mediterranean climate. The region's varied topography and microclimates contribute to the complexity and balance of the wines produced here. Domaine Gallety's vineyards are planted with Syrah and Grenache, reflecting the region's traditional grape varieties.
The estate's 15 hectares of vineyards are characterized by stony, clay-limestone soils that provide excellent drainage and mineral content. Grapes are harvested manually and fermented using gravity-fed tanks to preserve freshness. Aging occurs in Burgundian barrels, enhancing the wines' finesse and complexity.
