Domaine Méo-Camuzet, founded in the early 20th century, is one of Burgundy's most prestigious estates. Located in Vosne-Romanée, the domaine manages about 14 hectares of vineyards, including holdings in several grand cru sites such as Richebourg, Clos de Vougeot, and Échezeaux. Under the leadership of Jean-Nicolas Méo since the 1980s, the estate has risen to prominence, known for producing wines of exceptional quality and finesse. Méo-Camuzet's history is notable for its connection to Henri Jayer, a legendary Burgundian winemaker who served as a consultant and mentor to the domaine.
The domaine's vineyards are primarily situated in the Côte de Nuits, the northern half of Burgundy's famous Côte d'Or. This region is renowned for producing some of the world's finest Pinot Noir wines. The Côte de Nuits stretches from Marsannay in the north to just south of Nuits-Saint-Georges, encompassing legendary villages like Vosne-Romanée, Gevrey-Chambertin, and Chambolle-Musigny. The area is characterized by a patchwork of small vineyards, each with its unique terroir and classification within Burgundy's complex appellation system.
