The Estate

Domaine Méo-Camuzet, founded in the early 20th century, is one of Burgundy's most prestigious estates. Located in Vosne-Romanée, the domaine manages about 14 hectares of vineyards, including holdings in several grand cru sites such as Richebourg, Clos de Vougeot, and Échezeaux. Under the leadership of Jean-Nicolas Méo since the 1980s, the estate has risen to prominence, known for producing wines of exceptional quality and finesse. Méo-Camuzet's history is notable for its connection to Henri Jayer, a legendary Burgundian winemaker who served as a consultant and mentor to the domaine.

Grand Cru Clay Shows Power

The grand cru's deep clay-limestone soils provided crucial drainage during the challenging growing season, while old vines showed resilience through difficult conditions. Patient harvest timing and strict sorting proved vital across these historic parcels. The wine delivers profound red fruit intensity and spice notes, showing Richebourg's signature power framed by Méo's precise style.

Cool Autumn Builds Depth

Richebourg's iron-rich limestone soils preserved crucial freshness through the growing season's temperature fluctuations. The grand cru's perfect exposure and old vines allowed gradual ripening despite early season challenges. The wine displays profound red fruit purity, prominent spice notes, and the unmistakable mineral core of this historic terroir.
