Domaine du Clos Naudin was founded in 1910 by Armand Foreau and has remained a family-run estate for generations. Renowned for its singular dedication to Chenin Blanc, the domaine gained prominence under Philippe Foreau, who upheld a tradition of crafting age-worthy wines. Today, the estate is celebrated for its distinct Vouvray expressions, including dry, off-dry, and sweet styles, as well as sparkling wines.
Located in the Vouvray appellation of the Loire Valley, Domaine du Clos Naudin benefits from a cool continental climate influenced by the nearby Loire River. This region is synonymous with Chenin Blanc, producing wines that are known for their versatility, vibrant acidity, and capacity to age gracefully for decades.
The estate's 12 hectares of vineyards are planted on clay-limestone soils interspersed with silex, which contribute to the wines’ minerality and complexity. The vines, many of which are over 50 years old, are situated on gentle slopes, offering excellent drainage and sun exposure. These factors create wines with striking precision, aromatic depth, and a long finish.
