Château Les Forts de Latour, established in the 1960s, serves as the esteemed second wine of the illustrious Château Latour. Reflecting the grand vin's excellence, it offers a unique expression of the Pauillac terroir.
Situated in the Pauillac appellation of Bordeaux's Left Bank, the estate benefits from a temperate maritime climate. The proximity to the Gironde estuary moderates temperatures, fostering ideal conditions for Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot.
The vineyards are characterized by deep gravel soils over clay and limestone subsoils, providing excellent drainage and promoting vine health. This terroir imparts structure and complexity to the wines, hallmarks of the Pauillac region.
