The 2018 Saint-Aubin 1er Cru Les Murgers des Dents de Chien is showing nicely, wafting from the glass with notes of pear, fresh peach, iodine, pastry cream and wheat toast. Medium to full-bodied, satiny and charming, with an open core of fruit, succulent acids and a saline finish, this is both giving and nicely balanced, and it's already drinking well out of the gates.

Domaine Ramonet, founded in the early 20th century by Pierre Ramonet, is one of Burgundy's most revered white wine producers. Located in Chassagne-Montrachet, the domaine is now run by Noël Ramonet and his brother Jean-Claude, representing the third generation. With approximately 17 hectares of vineyards, including prized parcels in grand cru sites like Montrachet and Bâtard-Montrachet, Ramonet is renowned for producing some of the world's finest Chardonnays. The estate's meticulous vineyard management and traditional winemaking techniques result in wines of exceptional purity, complexity, and longevity.

High-Altitude Premier Cru Excellence

The elevated position and limestone-rich soils of Les Murgers des Dents de Chien proved advantageous during the warm 2018 season, with its altitude providing crucial temperature moderation. Ramonet's precise harvest timing in this well-exposed premier cru site, combined with the natural freshness from cool evening temperatures, preserved vital acidity while achieving perfect ripeness. These conditions produced a wine that brilliantly balances the vintage's natural generosity with the site's characteristic mineral intensity.
