Delamotte
Founded in 1760, Delamotte is one of the oldest Champagne houses, established in the village of Le Mesnil-sur-Oger. The house has built its reputation on crafting elegant and approachable Champagnes, emphasizing quality over quantity. As the sister house of the prestigious Salon Champagne, Delamotte benefits from shared expertise and a focus on Chardonnay-driven wines that showcase purity and refinement.
Delamotte is located in the Côte des Blancs, the heart of Champagne’s Chardonnay production. The village of Le Mesnil-sur-Oger is classified as Grand Cru, reflecting its exceptional quality potential. The Côte des Blancs is known for its cool continental climate, which preserves acidity and enhances the freshness and vibrancy essential to great sparkling wines.
The terroir of Delamotte is dominated by pure chalk soils, which provide excellent drainage and contribute to the wines’ signature minerality and finesse. The vineyards are primarily planted with Chardonnay, with smaller plantings of Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier, resulting in a range of wines that balance creamy textures with bright acidity.
