Domaine La Grange Tiphaine, located in the Montlouis-sur-Loire and Touraine-Amboise appellations, is managed by Damien and Coralie Delecheneau. The estate has been in the Delecheneau family since the late 19th century, with Damien representing the fourth generation of vignerons. After studying oenology and gaining experience in various wine regions, including Bordeaux, California, and South Africa, Damien returned to the Loire Valley in 2002 to take over the family estate.
Montlouis-sur-Loire and Touraine-Amboise are situated along the Loire River, benefiting from a temperate climate with moderate rainfall and ample sunshine. These conditions are ideal for cultivating a variety of grape types, including Chenin Blanc, Côt (Malbec), Gamay, and Cabernet Franc. The region's soils, composed of clay, limestone, and flint, contribute to the wines' minerality and structure.
Domaine La Grange Tiphaine practices organic and biodynamic viticulture, focusing on maintaining soil health and biodiversity. The estate's 15 hectares of vineyards are managed with meticulous attention to detail, employing manual harvesting and natural fermentation processes. The wines are aged in a combination of stainless steel tanks, barrels, and amphorae, depending on the cuvée, to preserve their purity and expressiveness. The resulting wines are noted for their balance, elegance, and reflection of the Loire Valley's diverse terroirs.
