Domaine Coursodon, located in the village of Mauves, Northern Rhône, has been a family-run estate since the late 19th century. Founded by Antonin Coursodon, the estate has been passed down through generations, with Jérôme Coursodon currently at the helm. Jérôme joined the family business in 1998 and has been instrumental in modernizing the winemaking process while maintaining traditional practices.
Mauves is part of the Saint-Joseph appellation, known for its steep, terraced vineyards and granite soils. The region's continental climate, with warm summers and cold winters, provides ideal conditions for Syrah, Marsanne, and Roussanne grapes. The vineyards' elevation and exposure contribute to the wines' freshness and elegance.
Domaine Coursodon's 16 hectares of vineyards are primarily planted on granite soils, which provide excellent drainage and contribute to the wines' minerality. The combination of soil composition, vine age, and careful vineyard management results in wines that are precise, balanced, and expressive of their terroir.
