Domaine Vincent Pinard, located in the village of Bué in the Sancerre appellation, boasts a winemaking heritage that dates back to the 17th century. Currently managed by brothers Florent and Clément Pinard, the estate represents the 15th generation of the family to cultivate vines in the region. Since taking over, the brothers have implemented organic and biodynamic practices, focusing on producing wines that reflect the unique terroirs of their vineyards. Their commitment to quality and innovation has positioned the domaine as a benchmark producer in Sancerre.
The Sancerre region, situated in the eastern Loire Valley, is renowned for its Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir wines. The area's continental climate, characterized by cold winters and warm summers, allows for slow and even ripening of grapes, preserving acidity and developing complex aromas. The village of Bué, in particular, is known for its diverse soils and favorable exposures, contributing to the production of wines with depth and character.
Domaine Vincent Pinard's vineyards are planted on a mosaic of soils, including caillottes (limestone pebbles), terres blanches (Kimmeridgian marl), and silex (flint). This diversity allows the estate to produce a range of cuvées that showcase the distinct qualities of each terroir. The brothers employ meticulous vineyard management, including manual harvesting and selective sorting, to ensure optimal fruit quality. In the winery, fermentation is carried out with indigenous yeasts, and aging occurs in a combination of stainless steel tanks and oak barrels, depending on the cuvée. The resulting wines are celebrated for their precision, elegance, and expression of place.
