Domaine Robert-Denogent, situated in the village of Fuissé in the Mâconnais, has been a family-run estate since the early 20th century. Jean-Jacques Robert assumed control in 1988, transitioning from selling grapes to cooperatives to producing estate-bottled wines. Today, his sons, Nicolas and Antoine, continue the family's commitment to crafting wines that reflect the character of their southern Burgundy terroir.
The domaine's 9 hectares encompass vineyards in Pouilly-Fuissé, Saint-Véran, and Mâcon-Villages, with vines averaging 70 years in age. These mature vineyards contribute to the depth and complexity of the wines, which are vinified using traditional methods that emphasize the expression of terroir.
The Mâconnais region is characterized by its limestone and clay soils, which impart a distinctive minerality to the wines. The area's temperate climate, with ample sunshine and cool nights, allows for the gradual ripening of grapes, preserving acidity and enhancing flavor development. Domaine Robert-Denogent's dedication to showcasing these natural attributes results in wines that are both expressive and true to their origins.
