Château La Fleur Pétrus
Château La Fleur-Pétrus is a highly regarded wine estate located in the Pomerol appellation of Bordeaux, France. Owned by the Moueix family since 1950, it has steadily gained recognition for producing exceptional wines. The estate's vineyards cover approximately 18.7 hectares and are predominantly planted with Merlot, complemented by Cabernet Franc and a small amount of Petit Verdot. La Fleur-Pétrus is known for its elegant, complex wines that embody the essence of Pomerol.
Pomerol is a small but highly esteemed wine appellation on the right bank of the Bordeaux region in southwestern France. It covers approximately 800 hectares and is situated north of Saint-Émilion. Pomerol is unique among major Bordeaux appellations as it has no official classification system, yet it produces some of the world's most sought-after and expensive wines.
Château La Fleur-Pétrus is characterized by its prime location on the Pomerol plateau, with vineyards situated near the famous Château Pétrus. The soil composition varies across the estate, featuring a mix of gravel and clay, with some areas rich in iron deposits known as "crasse de fer."
