Gagnepain et Risoul is a collaborative project between Manu Gagnepain and David Risoul, who focus on producing wines that reflect the unique terroirs of Corsica. They source grapes from select organic growers and utilize their own equipment and techniques to craft wines that are both expressive and authentic. The exact location of their winemaking facility remains undisclosed, adding an element of intrigue to their operation.
Corsica, an island in the Mediterranean Sea, offers a diverse range of terroirs, from coastal plains to mountainous regions. The island's Mediterranean climate, characterized by hot, dry summers and mild, wet winters, provides ideal conditions for grape cultivation. The influence of the sea and the island's varied topography contribute to the distinctiveness of Corsican wines.
Gagnepain et Risoul's wines, such as the ADN Blanc, are crafted from Vermentinu grapes grown in soils rich in minerals and influenced by ocean spray. These conditions impart a unique salinity and freshness to the wines, making them well-suited for pairing with seafood. The combination of organic farming practices and the island's diverse terroirs results in wines that are both expressive and reflective of their origin.
