The Perrin family's winemaking legacy began in the early 20th century with the acquisition of Château de Beaucastel in 1909 by Pierre Tramier. His son-in-law, Pierre Perrin, expanded the estate, and subsequent generations have continued to uphold the family's commitment to quality and innovation. Today, the fifth generation of the Perrin family manages the estate, maintaining its reputation as a leading producer in the Southern Rhône.
Located in the Southern Rhône Valley, Château de Beaucastel is situated in the Châteauneuf-du-Pape appellation. The region's Mediterranean climate, with hot summers and the mistral wind, provides ideal conditions for grape cultivation. The estate's vineyards are planted with all 13 permitted grape varieties, allowing for complex and balanced blends.
The soils at Château de Beaucastel are characterized by galets roulés, large rounded stones that retain heat and promote even ripening of the grapes. These soils, combined with the estate's organic and biodynamic farming practices, contribute to the wines' power, elegance, and longevity. The Perrin family's dedication to preserving the terroir ensures that each wine authentically expresses its origin.
