Founded in 1849, Champagne Pol Roger has been family-owned and operated for over 170 years, maintaining its reputation for producing refined, age-worthy Champagnes. Known as the "gentleman’s Champagne," Pol Roger has long been favored by British royalty and figures such as Sir Winston Churchill, who famously considered it his favorite. The estate is celebrated for its meticulous craftsmanship, from grape selection to extended aging, ensuring the highest quality in every bottle.
Champagne Pol Roger is based in Épernay, at the heart of the Champagne region, and sources grapes from some of the region's most prestigious vineyards. The Champagne region's cool, northern climate plays a key role in preserving the high acidity necessary for balanced sparkling wines. Épernay’s proximity to the Marne River also moderates temperatures, aiding in consistent grape ripening.
Pol Roger’s vineyards are spread across the Montagne de Reims, Vallée de la Marne, and Côte des Blancs, encompassing a diversity of terroirs. The chalky subsoil, a hallmark of Champagne, provides excellent drainage and enhances the wines’ finesse and minerality. The estate’s Brut Reserve, a blend of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Pinot Meunier, showcases the unique characteristics of these terroirs, resulting in Champagnes known for their elegance, complexity, and longevity.
